I notice a lot of you say Cheers! after your messages. I'm just curious, is this common in the country that you are from?

I'm from the USA and the only time we say cheers is directly after clanging glasses together.

Do people walk up to you on the street, talk and then say CHEERS!

if so thats cool :)

  • In Ireland, saying Cheers is just another way of saying Thank You.

We also use cheers in the context of celebrating with a drink, but if someone done something for me, I could say, cheers!!!.

It might be like that from all the Guinness we used drink. Maybe before people always had a pint of Guinness in their hands, so it was appropiate to say cheers.
