Using OCI on Linux (Oracle 8i)

Hi,

I'm running Red Hat Linux on my Intel-based PC. Have the Oracle 8i client installed.

I'm trying to run a C library that uses OCI to get some data from an Oracle 8i server running on a Windows NT box.

I developed and successfully tested the program on an NT box.

I can get it to compile no problem on my Linux box.

The problem I'm running up against:
It appears that when the application tries to load the OCI client library (libclntsh.so) I get a SIGTERM/segmentation fault/core dump.

Has anyone else seen this? I'm wondering if maybe this is the wrong library to include to process the OCI calls? Maybe I need to include something else first? Or maybe I'm missing an essential environment variable?

Help!

Thanks,
Mo
