SQL Datatypes

Hello!

In Access, there is a datatype called PM. Does anyone know what yuo have to name it in SQL-coding?

A PM in Access is a kind of "memo", a type where you can put in alot of text. But now I have started using interbase DBMS, and I don't know what I should use there. It doesn't seem to work with VARCHAR. Do I have to use a BLOB?

help...

What you are looking for is the LONG type in SQL. Although I use Oracle and I've found several times that the "long" datatypes are far from being standard. (Some cases even the numerical types aren't the same in different SQL servers and dialects.) So you have to check if you have a LONG datatype and wheather it is the same or not.
