Windows Graphics

Does anyone happen to know how BitBlt copies image data to a window or the screen? I understand how to use BitBlt, I am curious about what is happining "under the hood" when Windows is copying the image data. I have looked over MSDN for any sort of clue, but I haven't turned anything useful up. Surely it doesnt use SetPixel, I would think that would take forever :)

Thanks for any help,
Justin

I'm quite sure it's just a copy from one area of memory to another.

I figured that much, but how do I access the display memory currently being used by my window? That has been the problem.
