I installed RS232 program, I need some help.

Hi, I installed how-to-transfer-files-using-com1-port.html with 2 pc's, an old 586 200 MHz, and a fairly new (12 years old) Dell 1.6 gig. I managed to make them talk to each other. Then, it gets stuck. I want to tranfer a directory of files. I saw space for tag, but it's not working like it should (I think)). Can you help? Jim
