Dreamweaver Application HTML CSS

Guys I have just acquired Deamweaver as my default web page or web creation program which I find has the best application development in web design but saying that I have no relevant programing skills and would like a bit of direction which I think is needed in HTML CSS to start web creation I have to wait for training in my local college as it does not start soon but for another 3-4 months but would like to start on the basics, and I was wondering if anyone would have the best knowledge of were to start. Learning the basics of the application i have lynda.com training suites, which were acquired of ebay but would rather have the basic knowledge of people that have plenty of web design creation experience behind them and time to share the knowledge that they have. or perhaps the best place to start on HTML CSS Programing or which books to read or research.
