DOS Batch Command?

I am looking to compare a parameter to a string
thus I have the following code

if %1 == *SOLR* GOTO END

So I want to say if the parameter includes the *SOLR*
string then do something specific. Kind of like a
"like" comparison statement in SQL. Is something like this
possible as the above code doesnt seem to be working?

Thanks in advance!
