Images in pascal

ok, I have used programming lanuages before but it was a good few years and am at current teaching myself pascal, the best I can. But I've hit a brick wall with this I cant find help any where.

What I would like to know is how to display an image using pascal, can it only display certain types of images. Do you have to import any classes etc. I am affraid I dont know where to start, when I learned pascal in college is was only basic stuff, then we moved on to java and then delphi, so any help would be appriciated.

Anything is possible. There are units out there to display different file type. I wrote one for BMPs a long time ago, listed here:

I wrote it as a stand alone, but it could be used otherwise. Search this message board for use of. If you still need help post back. As for other formats, there is los of documentation out there and I'm sure a few units as well.
