Keyboard - programmering

Hello all out there.
I have ran into a problem, while playing with os programmering.
The keyboard indput, comes from 60h, but have to handle the scancode.
i cant find help, and cant find a solution. The thing i want is to convert the indput to ASCII.

    i want to convet the scancode to ascii
    Eksample, i use in al,60h
    and tap the "1" button, the scancode is then 01, but it do not follow the rest of the keyboard...
    one solution i got, is to damm ogly(cmp all buttons..).
