Browser

I'm trying to create a C++ web browser. I have some simple code that embeds Internet Explorer. It's simple enough, it works. The problem is that there is no address bar to type in new addresses. Could someone give me a link to tutorial? Just the actual code would be better, I've always been able to read code and figure it out better than tutorials.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

What type of tutorial are you looking for? I would probably just use an edit window for the address bar, but that is the least of the problems.

Web browsers can get extremely complicated. If you are new to C++ (As your signature says), I highly recommend doing a smaller project. This is just my opinion, of course.

If you still feel like you would like to try this project, good luck. We will still need to know exactly what you are looking for, however.

All I want is to be able to display HTML. That's it.

Address bar would be nice, but it's not necessary.

That can get very complex, as it requires parsing and correctly rending HTML. This also does not include parsing CSS, Javascript, etc. Also, alot of web sites have incorrect HTML syntax that you will need to support.

With the Win32 API, it is not that hard to add one.

Yes, I know it's hard. I'm willing to put a LOT of time into it though. Also, a LOT of sites do have incorrect HTML code. The code I have (doesn't work that great) would point out every error in the code. Only sites I personally made came up right. It also didn't work very well with PHP.

So do you know a good tutorial? It would be greatly appreciated.

What I was referring to (Using an edit control) is covered in [link=http://www.winprog.org/tutorial/controls.html]THIS[/link] tutorial.

You can use an edit control to allow the user to type in the URL to find.
