OCX program code

Hi,
I am using VB 4.0 and need help creating code.
I have two OCX controls called LED OCX and strobe OCX. I would like to use them to light up, or at least change colors when I click a button. The buttons I am using also send an output to the parallel port. The change in colors on the form would visually show me which button I had pushed.
I am new at this and will need specific instructions on how and where to place the code.
