  • Is it possible? Yes.
Are there tutorials for it? That depends.

Its relitavely easy to develop a simple Notepad like application using Win32, which might get you started. This assumes you are using the Win32 API, and have experience with it. If not, what API?

Also, might I suggest not using Dev-C++. Its outdated, non standard, and has not been active for a long time. (When will the Dev-C++ trend end already?)

There are much better (and free) tools avilable ;-)

Hmm, which are you referring to?

Last I checked dev-cpp was a rather good IDE, alas, it's not anymore.

It is not awful, however, auto-complete is not covering all elements (only API, I think. No macros, no data members, etc.) and the optimized code is not up to a standard.

It is OK for a beginner, but if you want to be productive - get VS 2005 Express and Win32 SDK.

About the text editor - I have LinePad project on my [link=http://www.codexxi.com]site[/link] - check it out - it is not perfect, but it has a source code. (Try to make a color syntax for it!)

Let me know if you like my code.
    :-)

P.S. Come to think of it - once I looked at this (LinePad) code again - I did not like it, my style changed (yeah, braces location) about a year ago.
