I've been struggling with upgrading a program from C++ builder 3 using BDE. The program uses MS Access databases to hold some data. I've had issues loading the code and getting it to use BDE to connect to databases. I've followed the procedurehttp://www.programmersheaven.com/mb/bcbuilder/322740/322740/ReadMessage.aspx?S=B20000
and I can connect to the database by setting up a DSN using the ODBC drivers as stated in the post. However, I don't think that the old program did this. I have the original NT machine that used the program and the control panel->odbc user dsn and system dsns are blank (though I get a warning on opening this that the resource dll is different than the install dll). Is there a way to open a database using the BDE without setting up a DSN (like the old program)? If not, can you establish an ODBC user connection in the code?
