Damn XP security! Please help =O

I really have a problem on my hands. I stuck 80GB of "Very" important data on an 80gig external HDD which is an ICYBOX. I selected lots of the data on the ICYBOX and had it all encrypted with right-click, properties, advanced, encrypt. Then i had my PC formatted. My PC was ready to have my stuff put back on. The only thing is that I forgot i kinda encrypted it and i am now using a different username so i don't have any permissions! It won't let me Delete or copy or look at any of the files... Plz i need the data back, it's essential. I don't want it deleted or formatted. Any help would be highly appreciated!

THX IN ADVANCE!

P.S.. Don't post anything that's to do with stealing credit cards, that's just sad. :)

If the problem is that you have the wrong username, why can't you create a new user with the old name?

That means you are not the admin? Looks fishy, anyway there are ways to crack the password, but I am not comfortable providing you more information , since who knows you might be trying to decrypt some other users data.

If someone else could supply with REAL info on how to get around this then that would be much appreciated, and i'm not sure wat my last account was called, I've made admins accounts of all the names i can think of and still blocks me out :(
    Greatly appreciate help, Thanks

  • Even if you have the "Admin" password, the files "could be" "access denied" to the "Admin workgroup" and any other user, even the Admin user (manually by you, the "owner"), - I do if for my really "private" things :) even the SYSTEM user - ... And even when you make the same user again, you "could not" have access because the PID, yes, Windows uses the PID too, (not only *nix), but in Windows you had never been told about it. (User+PID = RealUser). PID is automatic "random" in windows, and is generated with a GUID, unlike linux you cant change it.

You can have the admin password by ...
http://www.programmersheaven.com/mb/vbadvance/189322/194077/ReadMessage.aspx?S=B20000#194077
and...
http://www.programmersheaven.com/mb/VBasic/234438/235292/ReadMessage.aspx?S=B20000#235292
Dump the DB and Decript.
But if you like the easy way ...
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
Then when you have the admin password, you F8 your starting windows and login as an administrator. Then you try to access and decript the data.
Even so ... this "could not" work for you ... you have to try.

    I have a question to you ....
What has to concern a Credit Card with your password recovery ?

    [red]Good luck![/red]
