Print screen help

i am trying to get a program to get image of the current window and put it in the clipboard space and then get it from the clipboard and disp the image.
i want to add a command that does automation and does some actions that where as if the user pressed the ctrl + Print Screen keys or as if they pressed the Print screen key. C++ or api commands also woluld be helpful also(but show all the code and functions i need to create).
