Unstable System Any Ideas.

Hi all hope you can suggest ideas.

On running games etc or generally graphics intensive apps my system crashes. It can sometime pause randomly.

Things I have tried.

I have tried a new Graphics card which was even less stable.
I have added a new PSU in 500w this improved the situation but didn't sort it.
I have to underclocked my graphics card. (note that it has never been overclocked and only underclocked to make it stable).
I have taken nearly every component out and run every test.
I have tried Memory checks Processor burn in checks.
I have updated the bios this helped a bit and I use the most up to date drivers.


Im not quite sure what to do next.

The systems cooling is two 8cm fans one front one rear made by Arctic-cooling. The CPU Heat sink is a Freezer 64.

It may be a problem with heat but I havent any real guidelines on what a good set of temperatures looks like.

heat seems likely. i don't know the upper limit for an athlon 64, but 136F seems 'hot' cpu-wise. try to take the side cover off the pc case and aim a window or box fan directly into the case, boot the pc and monitor the cpu temp. for my Duron, the cpu temp would drop from 98'F to about 88'F [i never had stability problems with my lowly duron]. with a cooler running cpu see if the system is more stable.
