I'm using vb.net 2003, with an access. My program is a scanner check in / out program. I need a bit of help with the syntax for comparing a string value in a textbox to a row in a column in a table. So that a person cannot check out a scanner that has been checked out or check in a scanner that hasn't been checked out. Also, someone shouldn't be able to check out a scanner that isn't in the master record database. In short, how would I fully qualify the search and then cast to a string for comparison to the LH value????
dim txtasset as string
if txtasset is dsscanners.tblscanners.fldasset_column.tostring then
'do stuff here
This just returns the name of the field.
