e-Survey Database Engineer

You will be a core member within a team of database developers, web developers and research professionals to create custom web-based reporting applications for MessageMedia, Inc.'s customers. This will involve designing databases primarily in Microsoft SQL Server to both collect electronic survey information and then provide the resulting statistics via a web display.

MessageMedia projects focus on continuous measurement of customer satisfaction, using web technologies to both collect and present survey data. The ideal candidate has a solid comprehension of relational database design and extensive experience constructing SQL queries, joins, views, and scripting/programming with perl and javascript. The typical project begins with a web prototype and rough specification, with a functional deployment within weeks and continuing enhancements thereafter.

The e-Survey Database Engineer also develops tools and procedures capable of automating the retrieval, cleansing and manipulation of client data. These tools and procedures will focus primarily on pre-processing data prior to inserting it into production databases. In addition, Database Developers are responsible for using SQL to query, update and maintain client data across multiple tables in multiple databases. Our database environment is SQL Server on Windows NT and Oracle on Sun Solaris. Our client application environment is both Windows NT and UNIX.
