Delayed Write Failed
Recently while using Bearshare under Windows XP I have been getting "Delayed Write Failed" errors while downloading files. It tells me that the data has been lost and that it is due to a hardware or network failure. Also, sometimes when I click the start button I will receive an allocation fault. This causes the start menu and my desktop icons to refresh, and then everything continues as normal. My network connection seems to be working fine so I assumed a hardware error. I tried removing each of my sticks of memory, a 512 MB and two 256 MBs, taking one out at a time to see if one was faulty, but this did not resolve the problem. Any ideas? Is my HD about to die or should I just reinstall Windows XP? It has been a while since I did that. Thanks.
