Java 3D and Texturing

Hi there!!!

Hoping some one out there may shed some light on this. I Have written a program in Java 3D that will take any image and create a 3d terrain representation of it. What I am trying, and failing to do is to stretch the original image over the generated terrain. But I cant seem do it at the moment (very frustrating). Can anyone out there point me in the right direction for this.
