RS-232 5V, Lighting an LED

I need to light a 5 Volt LED Light Buy using a standard RS-232 Serial port. I know it can be done Without a circuit as well as with a circuit. Microsofts Serial Mouse drivers have the syntax to send voltage through a serial port without requiring an external circuit. Tear appart a serial mouse and find the + & - power connections and connect a 5v led. it will light up. Then with the drivers still installed unplug the mouse use the same pins and reconnect the LED. it still lights up with no circuit what so ever. I am wondering if anyone here has the syntax or RS-232 Protocol to send voltage out of the serial port.
