Have a excel file on a floppy that I need to open,
however, the following error comes up when I try to double
click.
cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only. Or you
may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the
server the document is stored on may not be responding.
When I attempt to do a scan disk to automatically fix the
errors, I receive a prompt that says the file may have
become corrupt or unreadable. Is there anyway to salvage
this file? Please help. Thank you.

Well, you can always look to your backup copy of the file. Uh...you don't have one? Ooops. :-( Try it on another floppy drive, just in case, but I'm afraid in cases like this the disk, or at least the data, usually is damaged and unreadable. Sorry, bad luck.

: Yeah, no backup copy....and other items on the disk can be opened. The weird thing is I just opened it yesterday and was working on it. Everything worked fine! I was hoping there was some trick to it....something I didn't know. I checked my hard drive for temporary files - it isn't there either. I also tried to open it on 4 different floppy drives. Thanks anyway.....
Is there anyone out there who may know a trick to this?

if the file cant accessed that means u dont have any permission,
try open the side nob in the floppy. that useally use to unlock and lock the floppy. if it is a network file then u may not have the access in the file, make sure u have that permission. if every thing is ok and it say file is corrept then try this software ( i never use it so it may help to recover the file)
