  • haha.... yeah my english sucks.....

When you open Explorer.exe for example, and

in any directory, where is situated some win based program, (for example CALCULATOR.EXE in C:WINDOWS), he has always an icon by his name, contrary to DOS based programs that always have that blank icon...

So my question is how to set that icon when compiling a new program (for example WINASM prog)?

  • What you need to do is put an icon into a

resource script (.rc file), compile that

to a .res file, and then link it in with

the object file. To do this use Visual Studio

    or a resource editor

The first icon in the resource part of a

PE file will be the one that is seen in

    explorer next to the name.

    Does this help?
