Windows XP Exception Error - Explorer.exe

Dialogue Box Title:
Explorer.exe - Application Error

Error Message:
The instruction at "0x77f57d85" referenced memory at "0x010032be". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on Cancel to debug the program.

VS reports it as "An exception 'Unhandled Win32 Exception' has occurred in explorer.exe" after clicking Cancel.

When opening in VS,get the following:
Unhandled exception at 0x77f57d85 in explorer.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x010032be. The code is opened and stopped at the line starting with '77f57d85' - unfortunately I didn't make a note of the rest of the line. When it next happens I will.

After closing VS the usual XP 'send error report' window appears, but with no further information. Does anyone know what may be causing this and/or how I can resolve this?

Many Thanks
