Normaly, Pentium III and IV use Sockets and Pentium II use Slots.
Socket 370 (370 pins) for the Pentium III and Socket 423/478 (423 or 478 pins) for the pentium IV.
Slot 1 (242 pins) for Pentium II
Although, browsing on the internet, I've saw a Pentium II for sockets and Pentium III for Slot 1. I've never saw this for real, but I wonder if there's a Pentium III for Slot 1 and an Pentium III for Socket 370 ? I doubt it...
I've also saw an adapter to plug a socket 370 Processor into a slot 1.
