I need help making a screen saver

I am trying to make a screen saver, but I have no idea of how to do it! I know C++ good enough to make a screen saver. I know graphics pretty good too. What I don't know is how to create a screen saver file. Do you need a special program to make a screen saver file? I am using Borland C++ 4.5. can I make a screen saver with this program, or do I need a different program? Any help with this is much appreciated.
