transparancy and ID3DXSPRITE, just a myth?

This may not be the proper forum for this topic, but I think it is the most appropriated. But enough talk. As you know the Direct Draw is gone from DirectX 8.0 and heck? I need sprites.

Instead of using 2 triangles, a texture and alpha blend for displaying transparent sprites I tried to use the ID3DXSPRITE interface. After I have succeeded I noticed that the sprites aren?t transparent.

Any idea on how to force the transparency down the ID3DXSPRITE throat?
