adding text to a richtextboxduring at runtime

hey guys i have this database that contains user data. i used textboxes to display currently selected datavalues for both the parent and child tables. how do i take the currently selected or current record information and put that and only that into a richtextbox within my program when a user clicks on the 'generate text' button? also, how do i format it, tab spacing, bold, underline, etc for the headings?
