data grid question

I am not sure how to use data grids as I am new to programming

I want to make a program that has five columns
and can add rows as needed. This program has nothing to do with databases or anything I just want to organize things in a neat way.
So essentially I will start out with just the headers. and then add the rows as desired?

for eg

FileName TimeFileOPened TImeFiledClosed TimeSpent TotalTime




Am I going about this the wrong way or are datagrids going to help me for this.
