directx 8 meshes

I have been programming with directx for about 2 years, and have always tried to understand meshes, but can never fully understand them. what the heck is "parsing" a .x file anyways. And how do I access the actual data to draw it to the screen?

    Parsing a .x file probably means that you will scan through the file and only use the data that you would like to use. Say you have a .x file that has two model's (if its possible) and you only want one of the models. You would parse out that model and save it into a temp storage. This way you only have to use the one model.
