DirectX 9 Loading Bitmaps

Hi everyone, I am trying to load a bitmap in DX9.0

lpDDPal = DDLoadPalette(lpDDSurf, szBitmap);
ddrval = DDReLoadBitmap(pdds, szBitmap);

but it says not found.. DDLoadPalette is unidentified.
I always thought these were in ddraw.h. Did DX9.0 change
the location of these objects? Please let me know. Thanks

Arm

    : Did you declare INITGUID to make sure that all macros and coms stuff are available in the ddraw.h header?

  • DDLoadPalette() is in ddutil.h in the DirectX 7 SDK. Not sure about any others.

    Also DirectX 9 has built in support for loading bitmaps and other image types.
