How to access the "Search Assistant" control

Clicking the "start" button on the windows task bar provides a pop-up menu, one of who's choices is "Search". A submenu choice is "For files or folders". This then starts a control which looks much like the "openfiledialog" control.

I would like to be able to invoke the "Search Assistant" control and have it pass back to me the selected folders/files (similar to openfiledialog).

Any ideas on how to do this? Sure don't want to reinvent the wheel.
