ERROR 159: 286/287 instructions are not enable

I'd like to know the meaning of this error... PLEASE I got a source and I need to know because I have a test in college about these things....

  • For some reason, TP 7.0 allows you to disable 286

    instructions. For an even more arcane reason, this

    is the default setting for the compiler. You probably

    encountered this error doing assembly language, like

    trying to PUSH a constant onto the stack.

    Anyway, you can enable 286/287 instructions by going to

    Options, Compiler, and clicking the 286/287 button on the

    top left side of the window that comes up. That should

    eliminate this error.

    This happened probably because you need an OBJ file that need to be linked with the program. Look for the {$L filename.obj} directive in the source code. Then look if you have such file (the filename.obj) in the directory or in object directories (Options/Directories-Object directories).
