How do I go about writing a test plan?
Also what information should I include
in 'technical documentation'?

It's a Quiz, the user can either choose to answer questions or write
there own. When the user writes there own questions it saves the
questions to a txt files (a seperate one for each subject), when the
user choses to answer questions it reads the questions from the same
txt files, once all the questions have been answered the user is shown
    thier score.

My quiz works fine, but I need to produce a test plan and carry it out
for my assignment. I know how and what I need to test on my program I just don't know how to go about laying it out etc.

I'm not sure if my technical documentation is on the right track.

    Here is my technical documentation.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Menus:

If an invalid answer is entered, the question is repeated or a message is displayed.
Menus are displayed with possible choices.
The first key pressed is read as the answer.

    Answering Quiz:

If an invalid answer is entered, the question is repeated or a message is displayed.
The first key pressed is read as the answer.
Questions are loaded from the question file in chunks.
Once all questions have been asked, the score, percentage and suitable comment is displayed.
The total amount of points possible is worked out by adding the possible amount of points of each question together.
The Percentage is worked out by dividing the score by the total amount of points possible then multiplying the answer by 100.
A message is displayed to confirm the quiz is complete and then the user is returned to the main menu.

    Writing Quiz:

If an invalid answer is entered, the question is repeated or a message is displayed.
The user must type their answer then press enter.
When a subject is selected that subjects question file is opened.
The number of questions and subject are saved first, in that order.
The Question, possible answer and how many points the question is worth are written all in a chunk after they have been asked.
A message is displayed to confirm that all saving is complete and then the user is returned to the main menu.

ok am in collage not a high levle tho but what i do for my testing is if am teasting numbers i usely take about 3 to 5 different answers and see if they work what they will do if they dont.

    something like this

write a program that will be used to collect and add up the score of a local archery team over the last 10 matches, they get 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a lose match.

ok for the testing i would try it 3 times.

    say the first one
I enterd for the 10 matches that i won the first match, lost the second match, lost the turd match, drew the forth, won the fith, won the sixth, drew the nineth and lost the tenth. ok calulating this all i come out with 9 points.
then i would say if it all went smouthly did it work, could I do anything that I could have made it better which comes in the matanince part, i would do this for all three of them just write anything you can on your program!!

ok I hope i explanded that ok lol.
