Beginner here...

I am hoping to create an SNES emulator and
I was wondering about the following things:

-What languages do I need to know
-What tools should I have
-Is there anything else I should have or know

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

  • You have to know how assembly works. You don't have to be a good assembly programmer, you just have to know how registers, stacks, flags, jumps, and memory work.

All emulators have disassemblers built into them. To create this, you will need to have information on the SNES instruction set and machine code. This data is also needed to program how your emulator will execute each instruction.

There is no particullar programming language needed to make an emulator.

There are other posts about making emulators. Search for them.
