MySQL remote administration

Hello,
I'm complete a newbie at MySQL and I've got a simple question.
I've installed MySQL on Apache on Win2K Server and found a lot of .exe's in the "/mysql/bin" directory. I've found that mysql.exe
and winmysqladmin.exe are alternatives of administering the database.
But these tools shut down when I try to use them from another Win2K
computer, connected to the server.

So my first yes/no question: is it possible to remote-administer MySQL?
The second question (if yes): which tool should I use for that and what precautions (if any) should I take?

Thank you for your time.

    [1] yes

[2] I use NetAdmin and MySQLFront for that purpose, you can find them on google.com I think

[3] you should not log in as root to often from another computer because it is easier to take the password then, and you should have all accounts passworded

  • If You have and PHP on that server use phpMyAdmin or visit:

    Ljuba
  • I have already written a little script for myself,
but I know phpMyAdmin is a good thing.

    Anyway, thanks for the reply.
