programming games 4 the ps2

Can someone please tell me how you program games for the ps2?
Is there an internet site or anything that can teach you?
I want to program without the ps2 devkit if possible.

you may already know but on the demo cd you get with the ps2 there is a copy of yabasic. i have written a couple games on it (got one on the cover disc of psi-2 in the dodgy backyard section). it is good apart from you have to use commands to draw gfx like line x,y,x,y rect circle and the like.

this site is very very old. waiting on some gfx from a slow friend. more ps2 stuff will be there soon, gba stuff and hopefully pc and amiga too

now i think about it that may not have come out in america??? if not i have known the guys at the forum to post spare discs to people who lost/dont have one. if you got a chip for your ps2 and got hold of a disc it should still work.

you also need a memory card to store the games/programs. ps2 keyboard is highly recommended to. any from a computer store should do. i got one for about AUD$40. probably about US$2 at the mo
