I recently installed IIS on Win2000 Pro using the add windows components from the add/remove programs control panel.
It all worked fine and I got php working with it and it was serving the php pages correctly to my browser.
Later that day the machine crashed. On rebooting it took ages for the desktop icons to appear and then the server wouldn't work. And non of the IIS admin tools will work. On quiting windows an MMC save file box appears asking if I would like to save a file.
I am assuming that my machine crashing has caused some file curruption in IIS and it needs to be reinstalled. I couls only do this from savemode because in win. it complained about other processes still in use. I managed to uninstall in savemode and then rebooted into normal mode and reinstalled IIS using the same add components method.
It seemed to work but the server again failed to work and a reboot gave me the same errors with no admin tools working and the MMC save box appearing on quit.
Whats happening? I don't know what to do next.
Is windows using the same currupt files when I reinstalled?
Thanks for any help.
Harrison.
