I left that post to see if things would be cleared up on their own. A complaint about it was sent to me so I decided to go ahead and delete it. I used search to find and open it and found the message that it had been removed.
I assume that removed posts shouldn't show up in search?

posts will show up in the searches because the search engine
is indexing the physical files and not the database.
But I do regulary delete the phyiscal file as well.
I have choosed this way because I wanted to be able to recover
if some moderator wen't berzerk and deleted all posts, then
I should be able to recover from that.
I hope that's OK.

I have no problem with that (it's a great idea, actually), I was just surprised that it showed up in the search.
Perhaps there is a way to move or rename the files so they aren't found by search? Just a thought...

That is, of course, entirely up to you. I could easily get used to deleted messages showing up in search (especially when I rarely use it), I was just surprised.
