When I open Dos I cannot display the full text in the dos window.
ie.C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32> only displays, :WINDOWSSYSTEM32>
Using my monitor screen adjustments makes no difference to the Dos or Qbasic window

When I change to the console it shows "ebian GNU..."
The problem arises because your (and my) monitor
doesn't allow that "Refresh Rate", I believe its
43-50 MHz; when you go to DOS 80x25.
In Microsoft DOS you can try to use:
mode con: cols=80 lines=43 or
mode con: cols=80 lines=50 or
try with another [lines] section.
You can't go to DOS 80x25 without distortion.
The "C:mode con: lines=50" changes your DOS
to 80x50 and the refresh rate.
That's the only "quick" option.

Thanks Hackman,
I know very little about this sort of thing.
What am I supposed with these commands?
mode con: cols=80 lines=43 or
mode con: cols=80 lines=50 or
try with another [lines] section.
Do I enter them somewhere?
How do I find out what my refresh rate is?

When the game is over, the King and the pawn share the same box.
The "mode" is an old ".com" application still in DOS & Windows.
When you go to DOS, write this in the command line:
C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32> mode con: lines=50
The refresh rate of the DOS command line at 80x25,
can't be changed, even I don't know if you can see it.
It's performed by the BIOS, and its unchangeable by
normal means.

I suppose you know how to go to the command line.
Because you see the C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32> prompt.

I suppose you are in full screen mode, not windowed mode.

Yes I am opening it in a full window.
I don't know too much, could you please explain, in detail, how to enter
mode con: cols=80 lines=43 or
mode con: cols=80 lines=50 or
these commands

I'm sorry I can't be more explicit.
I can't explain you how to open a command prompt,
because that was your first statement...

Sorry for the late reply but my computer malfunctioned, something to do with the CPU
I had to send it to Adelaide Sth.Australia to get it fixed.
Do you know the shortcut key to press to change a minimised to maximised screen?
