I've made a mysql search engine, i dont have the source here, so i cant post it, but i can describe how it works:
First it loops the content of a mysql table, then within that while loop it loops another while loop with if statements that check if certain words are in certain cols of the database, if it is it will post the content of the rows that have those words and break the second while loop, then it goes to the next row.
kinda like this:
while ($i <$numcols)
//get database info
while ($i2 < $numwords)
if(!stristr($name, $searchterms[$i2] == false)
but i saw another way to do this with really much other info and using LIKE in the mysql query, am i doing something very wrong here? it works just fine...
