As a C programmer who also knows a little C++, C# does not look that bad to me. And since I am learning Basic I am sure that VB.net would be no problem also. Right now I am trying to determine which web capable language to learn. I am looking mainly at Java, but I have a few questions first.
1. Can VB.net do everything or most of what Java can do on the net? In other words if I put away Java to learn VB.Net would that be a good choice? (Can I make internet based games, shopping carts, complex scripts, ect. with VB.Net?)
2. What do I need in order to use VB.net on the web? Do I need a software package from Microsoft? (What is it Visual.net studio or something?)
