Hey, does anyone know how to switch some SVGA mode on with 16-bit colors? Is there any general tools to do

the job because I dont want to learn this for any specific hardware? VESA-stuff and Univbe? How do u use

Univbe anyway? I know how to switch 256-color SVGA modes on with interrupts.

  • You'll want to use the VESA specification for that.

You can get the complete specification from:

    http;//www.vesa.org

It's available there as the VBE 3.0 standard, in PDF

format. VESA is an extention to the standard INT 10h

services, which are provided on almost all video cards.

The standard covers setting video modes, writing pixels,

    changing banks, etc.
