    Freebsd is an Operating system (another one of unix variants).

    I am using it now, with the kde desktop, its wonderfull

    the neat thing about freeBSD is that it will run linux programs natively
    [/blue]

    goto www.freebsd.com and download it, or help support it and pay 30$ - 35$ , well worth the money

    Yes, with the linux base installed it eventually will run linux programs.

    Most of linux programs(source) should compile on BSD with very little effort.

    Even SDL compiles :-)
