Define 'scanner'. Are you talking about a device that scans images into digital form? Or are you talking about a lexical analyzer, something that groups characters into tokens for a specific language.

Cheers,

If it's like "I need to turn the finished project in tomorrow" important, then yes, you have every reason to be depressed. If it's more like, "I need to have an overview of how I'm going to pull this off by tomorrow", then I would start by searching MSDN for the keyword "twain". This is assuming you're using Windows.

Cheers,
Eric

I don't really know, I haven't seen the API, and I don't know anything about your programming experience, and I don't know how much time you have. Regardless, if you haven't done any Windows programming before, it's going to be extremely challenging.

MSDN: MicroSoft Developer's Network - online repository of documentation for all things Windows. http://msdn.microsoft.com.

Im going to have to agree with Cajon, i dont mean to be rude but this seems like a bit of a leap. Start with a smaller project that you have some idea of how to begin. Maybe in the development youll stumble upon some scanner functions, maybe you wont but I think this projct is going to swamp you.
