I was wonderin what files i edit to turn off some of my services that start on boot. Hopefully it will speed up my comp. Also, how can i change my host name? I dont like the one i got right now, and i wanna change it :) .

    Most services are started via rc scripts. Have a look at /etc/rc.d/ directory

    So do I just delete the files in there that i dont want booting up?

    You don't delete any of those files, those are very important files . You just edit them.
