PROBLEM with creating RICH EDIT control

I can't seem to create a Rich Edit control as a child window of a regular client window. I don't get any errors but the control simply does not appear when I test the program. Any suggestions? (I'm using MVC++ 6.0 and programming in win API, NOT MFC. I have all the neccessary dll's for rich edit controls, and I have the RichEdsit header file included in the program, and the style flag for VISIBLE is set when I create the control)

Thanks

    I had a similar problem. The way I solved it was to load the rich edit control library within the WM_CREATE.

    I don't have the code with me now. I'll try to post it later.

  • OK thanks I'll try that!

  • With a bit of delay, here is the code

    // Loads riched32.dll for Rich Edit control

    HWND hRichLib = LoadLibraryEx("RICHED32.DLL", NULL, 0);

    if (!hRichLib)

    MessageBox(hWnd, "Loading RICHED32.DLL failed", "Error", MB_OK | MB_ICONEXCLAMATION);
