Conditional Statements Switch vs If/Else

After writing my pseudo code, how many conditional branches should I have before deciding to use a conditional Switch statement instead of the If/Else statement? I like the Switch statement and think its is cleaner and easier to read but I need advice. What other factors should I consider when deciding?
