AWS now provides improved Disaster Recovery in case of regional failure, ability scale out db globally and easy cross region migration by allowing Cross-Region Read Replicas for Amazon RDS for MySQL.

Agreeing to the fact that companies wouldn’t dump their data centers completely. In an interview, Dr Werner Vogels, CTO AWS, while discussing about their efforts at Hybrid Cloud with BizIT stated that “It’s a hassle to manage your own”, this basically underlines major drawback maintaining local data centre altogether. Answer to this is AWS’s ability to provide Hybrid Cloud, which brings to users best of both Worlds.

And Bernard Golden, senior director of Cloud Computing Enterprise Solutions group at Dell, shared his 7 learnings from this year’s re:Invent
