An emulator

Hey all, my first thread here. ;_;
Anyways, I've done some Google searching on my own already, and had no luck. What I'm looking for is a 'hardware emulator'. I'd like to be able to design a lamp circuit on my computer and see it 'light up' per se. I figured this would be much easier to use while still learning than just re-soldering things repeatedly. :

Any advice? I'm pretty new to hardware-development. :(
